Overview

In addition to the school programs, the Atlanta Speech School offers individual instruction for children and adults who have been diagnosed with a learning disability or who display language-based academic difficulties as confirmed by a current psycho-educational evaluation.

Students from age four throughout college with learning disabilities or language disorders can receive remedial work in reading (decoding, fluency, and comprehension), written language, mathematics, and spoken language. Morning and afternoon appointments are available. Academic skills, speech and language, and study and organizational skills related to learning disabilities are offered in this program.

Staff

Highly trained, experienced professionals holding Master's degrees, including learning disability specialists, reading specialists and speech-language pathologists individualize intervention to meet each client's particular learning challenges. Professionals use both formal (standardized achievement) and informal (teacher-developed) assessment data to monitor the client's progress.
