The Art of the Tale is a theme based small-group writing camp for students entering 4th, 5th, and 6th grade. The camp focus is on written expression skills developed through daily journal and expository writing (including descriptive, sequential, and persuasive). Students will utilize the Six Traits of Writing Curriculum and targeted skills include sentence structure, paragraph development, direction writing, report writing and creative writing. Skill areas will be addressed through a variety of projects and fun activities. The camp culminates with a final report and art show. Campers will utilize laptops for some project work as well as work on keyboarding skills. Class enrollment is limited to eight students per group.
