for rising 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders
This one-week camp is designed to develop and strengthen strategies to improve comprehension with an emphasis on mysteries. Activities will include a mystery novel study, mini mysteries, clue hunts, and Mystery Snack Theatre.
As students review comprehension skills they will become super-sleuths as they solve mysteries and focus on the importance of answering the who, what, when, where, why, and how of comprehension. Daily mini mysteries and hunts will aide students in following directions and applying comprehension strategies. The week will culminate in a “Mystery Dinner (Snack) Theatre” in which students will engage their comprehension skills in solving a school wide mystery.
