International Dyslexia Association (IDA)
The International Dyslexia Association (IDA) is an international organization that concerns itself with the complex issues of dyslexia. The IDA membership consists of a variety of professionals in partnership with dyslexics and their families and all others interested in The Association’s mission. The IDA actively promotes effective teaching approaches and related clinical educational intervention strategies for dyslexics.

Learning Disabilities Association of America (LDA)
A parent-professional organization to provide information about learning disabilities and advocate for children and adults with learning disabilities. LDA has state and local affiliates in most states. National Office, 4156 Library Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15234.

LD Online
A web site developed by the Coordinated Campaign for Learning Disabilities to provide information about learning disabilities and resources. A site for parents, teachers, children, and adults with learning disabilities, and anyone interested in learning disabilities.

National Center for Learning Disabilities (NCLD)
Provides information about learning disabilities.

National Information Center for Children and Youth with Disabilities (NICHY)
An information clearing house that provides free information on disabilities and disabilities-related issues.

National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD)
NICHD has been funding and conducting research on learning disabilities for many years. Recently their research on learning disabilities in reading decoding (dyslexia) has identified some major cognitive processes underlying reading disabilities. They have explored approaches for teaching children with these specific problems.
