for rising 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders Summer Excursions is a small-group learning camp for students with mild to moderate learning disabilities. Children entering first, second or third grade in the fall are eligible to take "educational excursions" through reading, math, and language. The camp will be divided into two three-week sessions. Groupings will be determined on the basis of age and individual student needs. Students may attend one or both sessions. Camper/staff ratio is 6:1.
Academic skills in oral and written language, reading, and math will be
integrated into stimulating thematic content to ensure maximum success
and enjoyment. Computers will be incorporated into the learning
experience, with keyboarding provided to those students for whom it is
developmentally appropriate.

During the first session of camp, students will experience and explore the African Savannah. Students will design and build habitats, as well as research the animals and vegetation native to this area. The incredible human body will be the destination for the second session of summer. Students will take a trip through the human body to explore the major body parts and how they work. Each student receives a Wardlaw Summer Excursions T-shirt. Campers bring a sack lunch daily and drinks are provided. Camp Dates for 2008
