Christine was the heartbeat of our classrooms. I always admired her special way of supporting the children in their growth and independence, while also showering them with lots of comfort and love. Her laugh lifted our spirits and her smile brightened our days. - Whitni Coleman, Kenan Colleague
“Of course her work was with the program and with the students – every day and unwaveringly – but she also took the time to mentor and support new staff, including me when I came on board at the Speech School. Christine shepherded me in the understanding of the Kenan culture and the Speech School’s deep and meaningful investment in all people. She was a teacher to us all, particularly last year, living with grace and care.” - Gina Elowe, Director, Anne & Jim Kenan Preschool
Christine’s family has established this endowment fund in Christine’s honor at the Atlanta Speech School, and we need your help to get the fund to a level where it can support the mission of the School in perpetuity.
Christine taught at the Speech School for 11 years. Teaching 3- and 4-year-olds gave her an incredible sense of purpose and satisfaction. Her smile, her enthusiasm and her love for the students filled the classroom. When she came home, she loved to share stories about car pool, recess and the learning that filled her day. Christine had a positive impact on so many.
The Christine Chenard Davis Fund will provide professional development opportunities for the Speech School teachers and staff, helping provide all students across all programs with the best opportunity for learning and growth.
Our goal is to raise $250,000 to support Speech School teachers learn more so they can better teach the children. Distributions from the Fund will provide for training seminars, speakers, conferences and book studies. This will help ensure the staff can create and deliver the best curricula to support each child’s development.
Please consider helping honor Christine and support teacher development at the School. Generous donors have offered to match all donations (up to $100,000) to help raise the remaining $200,000. So, starting on Christine’s birthday, February 25, each $1 raised will be matched, with goal is to have the endowment funded by February 25, 2022!
Thank you very much for your support of the School and your love of Christine!
