Psychologists agree that one of the best predictors of success in adulthood is developing empathy for others as a child. To instill a sense of giving in our students and help them realize the importance of giving to others, the Atlanta Speech School sponsors two community service projects each year, one in the fall and one in the spring. Children from across all our programs participate. Last fall students collected books and pajamas for the Pajama Program, for distribution to children in shelters, group homes and foster care. In the spring students participated in the Empty Bowls Project to collect food.
Each school sponsors additional service projects depending on uncovered needs.
