Making Math Fun

Making Math Fun is a small group math camp designed to develop and strengthen math skills.   The camp provides practice with math skills through a combination of fun math activities and math games.  Students love learning math when they can utilize fun math games and engaging hands-on math activities ina fun camp-like atmosphere.

For a full understanding of most math concepts, students benefit most from lessons that are grounded in hands-on experience with concrete objects.  This basis of math instruction helps build a foundation of mathematical thinking and makes it easier for students to understand abstract math in the future.  Above all, math that a student can see and manipulate is math that a student will remember.

Two camp sessions are offered this summer.  Session 1 is for rising 2nd and 3rd graders to improve speed and accuracy with addition and subtraction facts.  Session 2 is for rising 4th, 5th, and 6th graders to improve speed and accuracy for multiplication and division facts.
