How to Read With Children
Watch Malcolm Mitchell share how to use reading a story to enter a child's world to have a conversation and spark deep engagement.
Every child has the right to read, and proficiency is not enough. By intentionally constructing their deep reading brain, we prepare a child for everything that comes next: instilling empathy, developing personal reflection, honing imagination, growing critical thinking skills and building their executive functions so they are equipped to be informed, active and questioning citizens. Not only will they be able to have the life of their own choosing, but they will go on to make the greatest possible difference in the lives of others.
In this video, friend, author and Super Bowl champion Malcolm Mitchell shares what that construction can look like when we read with children.
